NASF partnership introduces forestry to kids across the U.S.

This week NASF joined the Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work® Foundation to announce a partnership to inform children nationwide on the importance of forests and forestry jobs.

This year’s Take Our Daughters and Sons To Work® Day falls on Thursday, April 25 and is themed “Work In Progress.” Both organizations recognized that this year’s theme would be a great match for a forestry focus, because our forests are a continual work in progress. The partnership will provide event organizers with tools and resources to enlighten children about the many careers they can explore related to forests in the areas of sustainability, forest health, fire prevention, urban and community forests, water quality and more.

“NASF is excited to be working with such a well-established program to educate the next generation about sustainability and forestry-related careers,” said WV State Forester and NASF President Randy Dye. “This will be a great chance for state foresters to engage their local communities and talk about their roles in forest health.”
