New Jersey names new Chief of Bureau of Forest Management

New Jersey is welcoming Donald Swaysland as the new Chief of the NJ Bureau of Forest Management. He joins the NJ from Versar, Inc. where he is a forester assisting with the preparation of the McGuire-Dix Joint Base Integrated Natural Resource Management Plan for the 42,000 acre military installation, along with the implementation of other forestry related work.  His overall experience includes state lands management, forest inventory, urban street tree inventory, forest health, tree nursery work, wildlife habitat development and prescribed burning. He will begin work with the agency on September 10.

New Jersey State Forester Lynn Fleming has been promoted to Director of State Forestry Services and will continue to focus on forest stewardship, forest fire management and the administration of the Office of Natural Lands Management.
