Along with the many members of the Sustainable Urban Forests Coalition (SUFC), NASF signed a letter thanking Congresswoman Matsui for her introduction of HR 1807 “The Residential Energy and Economic Savings Act” or "TREES Act" this week.
The "TREES Act" would assist retail power providers with the establishment and operation of targeted residential tree planting programs throughout the nation. SUFC, made up of almost 30 national organizations working to advance a unified urban forest agenda for the nation's communities, will continue to work with congressional partners to urge the legislation's successful passage during the 113th Congress.
