NASF’s newest team member will head up the association’s social media and awards programs and help manage the Smokey Bear wildfire prevention campaign.
Emilie Austin’s official one-week anniversary with state foresters is today! In her new role, Emilie administers NASF’s three awards programs, supports NASF communications through four primary social media channels, and represents NASF on national campaigns, including the Smokey Bear wildfire prevention campaign. She is excited to channel her passion for the environment through creative communication strategies on behalf of state foresters.
Prior to working at NASF, Emilie held several internships at environmental nonprofits where she gained experience with both communications and policy work. She recently graduated summa cum laude from American University with a B.A. in International Studies.
Outside of work, Emilie likes to bike, read, and try new restaurants in Washington, D.C. She loves to talk about growing up in upstate New York where her family grew their own food and raised chickens.
