Arbor Day now accepting proposals for large-scale tree planting projects

A call for proposals from the Arbor Day Foundation to NASF members:

Since 1990, the Arbor Day Foundation has worked with federal, state, and local government agencies; non-profits; forestry consultants; and individuals to identify and support reforestation projects. Our partnerships span both public and private land throughout the United States and its territories.  Through these partnerships and with support from Arbor Day Foundation donors, we can provide funding for seedlings on large-scale restoration projects.  Over the last 30+ years, we have worked together to help fund and plant more than 180 million trees.

We are currently seeking proposals for 2022/2023 large-scale plantings that will positively impact the environment, create habitat for wildlife, promote watershed restoration, sequester carbon and other benefits to the public. While the Arbor Day Foundation will consider all proposals, support of projects will be dependent on the availability of resources. We are eager to hear about what is happening in your area.

We encourage you to forward this call for proposals to anyone in your network who is coordinating reforestation efforts.  Interested individuals are encouraged to submit an online proposal by end of day October 7th, 2022.  Funding decisions will be communicated by November 1st, 2022.

If you have questions about the process, please consult our online FAQ.  For all other questions, please contact our team members Brad Brandt (bbrandt@arborday.org) and Jennifer Moon (jmoon@arborday.org).
