The NASF Washington Office grows by one: Zoe Firgau to manage the association’s grants

Please join us in welcoming the newest member to the NASF team, Grants Coordinator Zoe Firgau!

In this newly created position, Zoe will support the administration of NASF’s federal grant portfolio while working with funders and other stakeholders to provide oversight and management of forestry programs. She is eager to support NASF’s existing staff members with monitoring grant deliverables and building best practices for program success.

Before starting at NASF, Zoe worked as both a grants administrator and compliance analyst with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. In these roles she assisted with the management of federal grants and contracts and learned the regulations and oversight required of federal award recipients. Zoe has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Sustainability Studies from George Mason University. She is excited to work for another environmentally focused organization that dedicates itself to the active management of our nation’s forests.

Currently living in Arlington, Zoe explores the variety of parks, hiking, and trails the DMV (shorthand for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia area) has to offer. After work she can be found surveying D.C.’s array of happy hours and cuisines or buying an unnecessary number of plants at a local gardening center.
