State foresters selected to join US Forest Service

State Foresters Monica Lear, Ph.D., (DC) and Steve Koehn (MD) have been selected to join the US Forest Service as Director for Forest Health Protection and Director of Cooperative Forestry, respectively, in Washington, DC.  Both have served in numerous leadership roles with the National Association of State Foresters over the years.  Lear serves as Chair of NASF’s Urban and Community Forestry Committee and Koehn serves as Chair of NASF’s Forest Resource Management Committee as well as having served as NASF’s President from 2009 to 2010.  Both have served as President of the Northeastern Area Association of State Foresters.  NASF thanks Monica Lear and Steve Koehn for their outstanding leadership and wishes them the best as they enter this next chapter in their careers.
