JOB ID 22282: Service Forester
South Dakota’s Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Resource Conservation & Forestry Division is seeking a qualified candidate for our Urban and Community Forestry team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, or a related natural resource profession field. Experience may be substituted for education if that experience has prepared the candidate to successfully carry out the duties outlined in the posting. This position will implement, coordinate, and administer forestry activities and programs with landowners, city or county governments or agencies and conservation districts.
The person hired for this position will be required to become and International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist once the individual has met the ISA certification requirements. ISA Certification is not a requirement of hiring, but will be required to be obtained after being hired. The person hired will also be required to obtain and maintain a pesticide application certificate from the State of South Dakota.
Work days typically consist of Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the State of South Dakota offers an inclusive benefits package.
