Government Affairs Director

The National Association of State Foresters is seeking a Government Affairs Director.  The position is based in Washington, DC and includes a remote work option with two days per week  required in the office. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in forestry, political science, public policy, environmental policy or related field; at least three years experience in legislative or policy work; proven ability to build partnerships and excel in a team environment; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of the federal appropriations and legislative process; and proficiency using Microsoft Office programs.

Ideal candidate will have combined five years of Capitol Hill and/or association advocacy experience. Working knowledge of forestry issues and key congressional, agency, and nonprofit contacts preferred. For more details, please review this document.
