NASF releases statement in support of forestry amendments to Senate infrastructure bill

The National Association of State Foresters (NASF) applauds Senators Manchin (D-WV) and Barrasso (R-WY) for including forestry provisions in the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources infrastructure bill that recognize forests as integral, natural infrastructure in need of significant investment and greater active management.

NASF also supports the amendments offered by Senators Wyden (D-OR) and Daines (R-MT) and calls on Congress to build on this bipartisan effort. Investments in State and Private Forestry programs are needed to increase active forest management across federal, state, and private lands. Meaningful, landscape-scale forest restoration doesn’t happen without collaboration across ownership boundaries.
