Now VIRTUAL: NASF 2020 Annual Meeting

The NASF Executive Committee has made the difficult but unanimous decision to take the 2020 NASF Annual Meeting online. We assessed many factors, with the most important consideration being the health and safety of attendees.

This decision means postponing our year-end celebration of NASF’s 100-year anniversary until next year’s annual meeting when all of NASF’s partners and friends can gather for a true centennial celebration with State Foresters. The NASF Centennial Challenge campaign will continue through this year and next. Additional information for Centennial Challenge point persons is available here.

As our virtual meeting plans develop, please note the following:

1. State Foresters and association staff should hold open the following dates: September 21-23, 2020. The virtual 2020 NASF Annual Meeting will focus  on State Forester and association business. At this time, we are not planning  to include speakers, partners, or sponsor and exhibitor opportunities.
2. The NASF Awards Committee has opened the nominations period for 2020 NASF Awards. Only nominations submitted to this online form on or before Sunday, August 16, 2020  will be considered. Descriptions of the awards and guidelines for selection are included on the first page of the online form. Please note: the 2020 awards program will be shortened to accommodate this year’s virtual meeting format. To ensure that 2020 winners receive the recognition they deserve, their awards will be presented in person at the 2021 NASF Annual Meeting.
3. Pennsylvania State Forester Ellen Shultzabarger and her team had planned an excellent NASF 2020 Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh and have graciously agreed to host the 2021 meeting. Details on the 2021 NASF Annual Meeting will be distributed as soon as they are finalized.
