NASF commends the bipartisan, bicameral sponsors and cosponsors of the Wildfire Reduction Market Expansion Act of 2026 (S. 5087 / H.R. 9827) for their leadership in advancing innovative solutions to reduce wildfire risk and strengthen markets for low-value woody biomass. By expanding Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) eligibility for certain fuels produced from forest-derived feedstocks, the legislation would help create new economic opportunities for material generated through hazardous fuels reduction and other forest management activities. NASF appreciates the broad support behind this effort and looks forward to working with Congress to advance the bill through the legislative process.
