The NASF Annual Report highlights accomplishments by the nation's 59 State Foresters and their staffs to advance policy, communications, and operations priorities that help protect and enhance America's "green infrastructure":  trees.

The Forests in the Farm Bill (FIFB) Coalition, which includes 100 forest groups, released its forest-related recommendations that would improve the next Farm Bill's ability to support private and family-owned forests and the benefits they provide.

State forestry agencies develop and implement forestry best management practices (BMPs) that are designed to protect water quality and maintain water quantity. State forestry BMP programs are highly diverse to reflect the wide range of forested landscapes and unique state characteristics found throughout the country.

The Smokey Bear Guidelines were created by the Cooperative Forest Fire Prevention Program committee. This report provides tools and resources for accomplishing wildfire prevention activities and outlines administrative requirements of the Smokey Bear Program.

Trees and forests are vital green infrastructure in communities throughout the United States—America's natural capital. Healthy urban canopies do not happen by chance and require investments of dollars, time and expertise. The My Tree—Our Forest® downloadable flyer can help communities and state agencies educate residents about the importance of healthy urban and community trees.

This report retails state forestry agency-operated tree seedling nurseries and tree improvement programs. Twenty-nine states and Guam currently operate nurseries. On average, nurseries produce more than 117,000,000 seedlings per year and ship more than 40,000 orders.

The Guiding Principles for Best Practices for National Guard Resources are established to assist state forestry agencies and partners with training and deploying National Guard Resources. National Guard and Department of Defense resources support wildland firefighting in various ways. Lessons learned from after-action reviews following past wildland fire seasons have helped shape these recommendations.
