Forest Stewardship Specialist position with the North Dakota Forest Service, located in Walhalla, ND. This person provides field services and support statewide to private forest landowners and partner agency staff to ensure that our planted and native forests will be healthier, more diverse, and more valuable places for future North Dakotans than they are today. Specific areas of technical assistance include the sustainable management of windbreaks and other conservation tree plantings as well as native upland and riparian forests.

Community Forestry Specialist with the North Dakota Forest Service, located in Lisbon, ND. This person engages with local communities, decision-makers, and individuals to encourage and implement sustainable practices which improve community forests, thereby enhancing the quality of life for generations of North Dakotans. Responsibilities include conducting community tree inventories, providing sound management advice and plans, assisting with forest health surveys, assisting communities with project planning and grant applications, identifying tree pest issues, and assisting with tree care ordinances.
