The National Association of State Foresters is hiring a Forest Resource Management Contractor.
The Forest Resource Management Contractor: Provides staff support and leadership to the NASF Forest Resource Management Committee, supporting the State Forester Chair in convening members and partners. Serves as subject matter staff expert on forest management issues and programs, advising the NASF executive, policy, and communications teams. Anticipates issues impacting state forestry agencies and develops briefing papers, position statements, and talking points. Builds relationships and partnerships with federal agencies, organizations, and coalitions to convey and build support for state forestry agency priorities. Ensures and supports State Forester representation at relevant meetings and forums. Monitors federal legislative, regulatory, and programmatic proposals and ensures timely communications to NASF members and teams. Contributes content for newsletters, publications, and meetings.
Full-time, independent contractor position. Location: Remote – Can be based anywhere in the United States. Frequent travel required. This includes travel to three (3) executive committee meetings, two (2) committee meetings, the NASF annual meeting and various partner forums each year.
