Senior Manager, Northern California Reforestation: The Senior Manager position will lead northern California’s reforestation program for American Forests, including all project development and implementation, and will manage all relevant partnerships. This position will oversee program and field logistics, administer grants, and recruit and hire staff and field crew support under their supervision. This position will have one full-time American Forests staff member as a direct report. The portfolio of work is primarily focused on the Eldorado National Forest, with potential to expand to other areas and landownerships in northern California. Our program plans and implements a broad suite of reforestation-related actions, primarily in postfire environments, including site preparation, planting, release, regeneration surveys, monitoring, and cone collections.

This is a hybrid position with fieldwork responsibilities, requiring the successful candidate to live within commuting distance of Placerville, California. The ideal candidate will be a California Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or be able to qualify for, take, and pass the RPF exam within 2 years. Additional desired qualifications include experience in forestry and related project management, experience in partnership and program development, and possession of a current CA Qualified Applicator Certificate/License (or willingness to be sponsored in obtaining same within 6 months of employment).
