NASF Wildfire Prevention and Educational Outreach

The National Association of State Foresters (NASF) believes that fire prevention and general forestry education is of critical importance to the protection of the nation’s forests. Through the Cooperative Forest Fire Prevention Committee (CFFP), NASF works with the USDA Forest Service and the Ad Council to support the message of Smokey Bear, the national symbol for fire safety. The association also incorporates fire prevention messages throughout the work of its standing Fire Committee and through its general communications and policy efforts.

NASF sells educational materials and products like State Tree posters through a field office in Franklinton, North Carolina. Government agencies, fire departments, and teachers are all able to order materials through NASF to help build awareness and promote wildfire prevention and support environmental education. Individuals looking for free materials are encouraged to contact their state forestry agency, as NASF is unable to provide giveaways to the public.
