The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources – Division of Forestry is recruiting for multiple forester and forestry technician positions throughout the state. These are full-time positions with a starting pay of $22 to $27/hour for foresters and $16.61/hour for forestry technicians. The application deadline for these positions is February 18, 2018 with an anticipated starting date of May 29, 2018.
About the positions
Depending on the location, the forester positions include a mix of duties that could include forest management assistance on private lands, state lands and county forests, providing advice and assistance to landowners, property managers and other partners, and fire management within the assigned area.
Forestry technicians are responsible for technical, administrative and paraprofessional fire management activities and also provide technical, administrative, and paraprofessional forest management assistance on state, private or county lands when not assigned to fire duties.
Significant on-the-job training is provided.
