An exciting and challenging leadership position is being filled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. As the Director of the Nebraska Forest Service/Nebraska State Forester, the successful applicant will lead a dynamic, progressive, and growing state forestry agency within the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln, Nebraska, one of the most livable smaller cities in the country. This full-time administrative position has excellent benefits, including tuition remission for employees and dependents. The Director/State Forester is responsible for administration and leadership of the Nebraska Forest Service (NFS) to fulfill statutory responsibilities in Rural Forestry, Community Forestry, Wildland Fire Protection, and Forest Health programs; for other non-statutory NFS programs; for seeking and acquiring financial resources to supplement permanent state funding, and for program and professional development of the NFS faculty and staff including members at statewide locations.
