Dept of Interior seeking Senior Fire Advisor (Washington DC)
DOI, Bureeau of Land Management, is seeking a Senior Fire Advisor. The Senior Fire Advisor is an expert in all aspects of fire and aviation, represents BLM’s Fire and Aviation program on Washington-level interagency tasks and working groups to develop policy and direction in concert with all other entities in the Washington D.C. area; directly supervises the Washington Office staff and provides leadership for Bureau programs relating to wildland fire and aviation management; develops policy direction for the Bureau Fire and Aviation program and reviews policies, programs, and regulations that ensure protection of resources and public lands; evaluates proposed legislation and makes recommendations for legislative changes required to support the fire management program; performs wide-ranging and substantive policy, budget, and managerial actions for the Director and Assistant Director to assure full and appropriate coordination, integration, and operation of major Bureau program missions and activities.
