CO Forest Service hiring GIS Technician

The Colorado State Forest Service is hiring for a full-time, permanent GIS Technician. Under the direct supervision of the GIS Program Manager and in collaboration with the Information Technology Division, the GIS Technician will assist with and provide technical support and training to all CSFS personnel involved in tracking forest management activities using an online GIS application created by the USFS called SMART. This position will also include providing training and technical assistance for users of ESRI ArcGIS 9x and 10x and commercial and professional grade GPS units across state-wide districts. In addition, the GIS Technician with assist with implementation of SMART and ArcGIS 10, data collection efforts, database maintenance, and map production with field staff. Responsibilities also include training and support for CO-WRAP, an online GIS application for wildfire planning and education.
