Wildfires hasten climate change, study says
Posted on Friday, April 24, 2009Wildfires and a warming climate are locked in a vicious cycle, according to research in a new report published in the journal Science this week. Climate experts have known that a warmer world would spawn more fires, but scientists now believe that forest fires influence climate change, particularly deforestation fires like those set to clear forest for pasture in tropical areas like the Amazon.
