Western fire season below normal, say WY and MT State Foresters
Posted on Tuesday, October 28, 2008Favorable weather conditions helped put a damper on the wildfire seasons in Wyoming and Montana this past summer, according to Wyoming State Forester Bill Crapser and Montana State Forester Bob Harrington. Fire officials in both states report that while the number of fire starts was about normal, the fires were generally smaller than in recent years and quickly put out.
