Virgin River restoration showing progress
Posted on Tuesday, February 2, 2010Since 2003, a collection of state and local agencies have worked to restore damaged habitat in the Virgin River watershed, digging out invasive plant species, shoring up river banks to protect against flooding, and trying to re-establish the fragile populations of rare plant and animal species native only to the Virgin's flood plain. The multi-state effort engaged forestry agencies in Utah, Nevada and Arizona.
