UN ceremonies officially close International Year of Forests

The United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) officially marked the conclusion of the International Year of Forests on February 9 at UN headquarters in New York. A presentation of the Forest Heroes Award was made at a special ceremony that also featured film clips from the International Forest Film Festival, and the launch of the commemorative book Forests for People with 75 articles from 35 countries.
