Senate passes stimulus, negotiations go to conference

The Senate passed the $838 billion economic stimulus bill today by 61-37. House and Senate negotiators could meet quickly to begin resolving differences in the package. The goal is to pass it in both chambers and send it to President Obama before leaving for a scheduled Presidents Day recess.
