October is NeighborWoods Month
Posted on Thursday, October 1, 2009National NeighborWoods Month is an annual October celebration to remind us of the value of trees in our communities. Led by the Alliance for Community Trees (ACT), the National NeighborWoods Program supports local partners with training, technical assistance, marketing tools, and project grants to encourage the involvement of volunteers in the hands-on restoration of urban forests. NASF encourages its members and constituents to participate in NeighborWoods month by volunteering, hosting a local event, or donating to help plant trees during October. Visit http://neighborwoodsmonth.org to register your event, download free tools and templates, and order local support materials.
