In New England, uncertainty about biomass remains

Supporters say biomass is an important renewable energy source because it can easily be replenished by planting new trees, which will, over time, absorb the greenhouse gases that power plants emit. But some critics in New England are ratcheting up the public scrutiny over a lack of definitions and rules on what can truly be called "sustainable" biomass.
