Invasive kudzu could contribute to ozone pollution
Posted on Tuesday, May 18, 2010The noxious, smothering vines of invasive kudzu that have spread throughout the southeastern United States in recent decades may also contribute to ozone pollution in the region. Results of a study detailed in the May 17 issue of the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences reveals that the impacts of invasive species on the atmosphere need to be considered along with their effects on ecosystems.
