House subcommittee considers bill for parks, forests and open space near DC
Posted on Tuesday, April 27, 2010The House National Parks, Forests and Public Lands Subcommittee considered legislation this week authorizing $250 million for the purchase of parks, forests and open space around Washington, D.C. H.R. 2986 would authorize a grant program for states and local governments to acquire land in the national capital region to be used for parks, green space, agriculture, forests, habitat, watershed protection, historic preservation or public recreation.
