Fires cost Russia $300 billion in deforestation
Posted on Thursday, August 26, 2010Wildfires have cost Russia $300 billion in forest loss, according to estimates by environmental groups, which have criticized Vladimir Putin for recent forestry legislation and reforms that eliminated the Federal Forestry Service and introduced a new Forest Code.
