The House Natural Resources Committee agreed yesterday on an amended version of the FLAME Act (H.R. 5541), which would set up a special account for severe wildfires more than 300 acres. The approved version incorporates elements of the Emergency Wildland Fire Response Act (H.R. 5648), including requiring that annual reports on the FLAME Fund be available to the public and a review of any wildfires that cost the fund more than $10 million.
