Ag secretary asserts executive power over roadless area decisions
Posted on Friday, May 29, 2009Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced this week that all proposed activities in roadless areas on national forests -- including logging, road-building and road reconstruction -- must meet his direct approval for at least a year while the Obama administration decides how to handle a controversial Clinton-era roadless rule.
